The MAC motor can provide 50kph no problem and with the right controller and voltage, the max speed can be approximately 60kph. The same motor structure can also be configured for lower speed, high torque. This will provide good hill climbing with over 1000W output power at 48V.
We have new strong Composite Gears for all MAC hub motors now and have found these to be reliable with even 2000W plus power. Compared with Direct-Drive motor, the gear reduction allows the MAC motor to have more efficient rpm greatly improving the starting torque. and also be smaller and lighter.
Not like the majority of geared motors, the MAC motor is built for high power demands of the US market , not the highly restricted EU market. However, our slower wound versions could still be used within the EU speed limit, for those requiring more hill climbing ability than the typical 250W motors can offer.
